Why Countertop Material Matters
Not every countertop reacts to cleaners in the same way.
Marble is particularly sensitive to acids, which can cause dull spots known as etching. Granite is more durable, but its care depends partly on whether the surface is properly sealed. Quartz is nonporous and generally easy to maintain, but prolonged exposure to aggressive chemicals can still damage or discolor some surfaces. How to Remove Coffee and Tea Stains
Coffee and tea can leave brown rings that become more noticeable when they dry.
Start with warm water and mild dish soap. If the mark remains, use a countertop cleaner specifically approved for your surface rather than immediately reaching for an abrasive scrubber.
For quartz, manufacturers such as Caesarstone recommend approved non-abrasive cleaners for stubborn stains and advise rinsing the surface afterward.
Avoid aggressive scrubbing. A stain that needs more time to loosen doesn’t necessarily need more pressure.
How to Remove Red Wine Stains
Red wine is one of those spills where speed matters.
As soon as you notice it:
- Blot the spill with a clean cloth.
- Don’t rub the stain outward.
- Clean the area with mild soap and warm water.

Laminate
