Why Plastic Containers Never Seem to Dry in the Dishwasher

If your dishwasher has finished but the plastic is still wet, opening the door slightly can allow warm, humid air to escape.

Fresh air can then enter, helping the remaining moisture evaporate.

Some dishwashers have an automatic door-opening feature for exactly this reason.

If yours doesn’t, check the manufacturer’s instructions before manually leaving the door open, especially if the dishwasher’s installation or controls don’t recommend it.
