- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar, for coating
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, for coating
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together apple cider and apple cider vinegar. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the apple cider mixture. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or Dutch oven over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying in batches.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Remove donut holes with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- In a shallow dish, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
- Toss warm donut holes in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

- Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature before frying.
- Coat the donut holes while they are still warm for the cinnamon sugar to adhere well.
