Description

Quick and easy side dish featuring tender green beans coated in nutty brown butter and crunchy almonds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Blanch green beans in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop cooking.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook, swirling occasionally, until the butter turns golden brown and smells nutty.
  3. Add sliced almonds to the brown butter and toast for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned.
  4. Add the blanched green beans to the skillet. Toss to coat evenly with the brown butter and almonds.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use browned butter.
  • Ensure green beans are dry before adding to the skillet to prevent splattering.
  • Toast almonds separately if you prefer them crispier.
