Description

A simple 2-ingredient mixture of baking soda and cooking oil that effectively removes sticky labels and adhesive residue from household items.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or olive oil
  • A small bowl
  • A spoon
  • A soft cloth or sponge
  • Warm water
  • Dish soap

Instructions

  1. Mix the baking soda and oil in a small bowl until a thick paste forms.
  2. Peel away as much of the paper label as you can by hand.
  3. Spread a generous layer of the mixture over the sticky residue.
  4. Allow the paste to sit for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Rub the area with gentle circular motions until the adhesive begins lifting away.
  6. Rinse the item with warm water and wash it with a little dish soap to remove any remaining oil.

Notes

Always test the paste on a small, hidden area first, especially on painted, finished, or delicate surfaces.
