Description
An easy and beautiful baked apple dessert filled with gooey caramel and warm spices, perfect for fall gatherings.

- 4 large Honeycrisp apples
- 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1½ teaspoons apple pie spice
- 8 soft caramel candies
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
- Caramel sauce, for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice off the top of each apple and carefully remove the core, leaving about 1 inch intact at the bottom.
- Cut the apples into 8 equal sections without slicing completely through the bottom.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and apple pie spice. Mix until smooth.
- Place each apple into a baking dish and insert 2 caramel candies into the center of every apple.
- Brush the butter mixture generously between the apple slices and over the top.
- Pour about ¼ inch of boiling water into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for 25–30 minutes, until the apples are tender and lightly caramelized.
- Allow the apples to cool for about 10 minutes before gently pulling the slices apart.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce.
